CASE STUDY 2During the winter of 2012 heavy rainfall destabilised a section of flood defence embankment along the River Brit in Bridport. Due to restricted access through privately owned land the Environment Agency opted to install a long term flood defence solution to avoid the need to return to the site every few years. Such Salinger Peters were commissioned to produce a detailed design for a replacement flood wall. In order to replace the existing flood bank with a flood wall the topography of the bank was altered creating a much less steep bank. This would allow the Environment Agency easier access to the site to carry out maintenance. |
