| Nature of Project | This scheme was a community project for affordable housing on a brownfield site on the outskirts of Buckland Newton. http://www.lyddenmeadow.co.uk/ Such Salinger Peters (SSP) worked with the contractor C.G. Fry and Son to gain consent for this farmstead style development and provided a biodiversity survey to support the planning application. SSP also detailed wildlife mitigation measures during works and recommended ecological enhancements to gain Code 4 Sustainable Homes certification for the scheme. The SSP ecologist surveyed the site prior to works. Information from this survey was used in conjunction with data searches from various sources to provide advice to gain credits. A section of the site was re-instated to conservation grade wildlife habitat following guidelines provided by SSP. A major component of the Ecology section for the Code for Sustainable Homes was the design of this wildlife habitat - a species rich wildflower meadow on part of the site. This project benefitted from ecological expertise at SSP.
